Sallie Mae In Market With $1.55 Billion TALF-Eligible Deal

"SLM Corp. (SLM), better known as Sallie Mae, is in the market with a $1.55 billion bond that is eligible for funding under a Federal Reserve program, according to a term sheet.

The deal, jointly led by Barclays Capital, Banc of America Securities and J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. (JPM), will price ahead of the final loan application deadline for the central bank's Term Asset-Backed Securities Loan Facility, TALF."

This will bring the total private student loan financings that Sallie Mae has completed through TALF to $7.55 billion.
